Bentham Golf Course is a picturesque, family-run 18 hole course with a backdrop of The Three Peaks, in an area of The Yorkshire Dales famous for its dramatic scenery. With the addition of the Forest of Bowland and Lake District hills to the west, stunning panoramic views from the course are a welcome distraction for any players who find the rolling course challenging!
Holes 1-6:
The beautiful views of Ingleborough can be appreciated from most holes. The first is a straight par 4 to ease you into the round. At the second, a long drive is needed to get you in a good position. The third is a new hole, a par four from an elevated tee. The fourth plays horizontally to the fields, so keep your eye on your ball here! The fifth plays downhill and sets you up for a small par three. With water hazards on the left, be careful to play down the centre or to the right.
Holes 7-12:
The seventh hole is all uphill but there is ample recompense when you reach the green because this is surely the best of several outstanding vistas. This brings you to a short par 3 for te 8th, followed by a long dog-left left for the 9th hole. Next up is a tricky shot over a small lake, our signature hole which offers more great long distance views from the tee. The long par four follows up the hill. Stay left to avoid a rough landing. Next up is the 12th, a straightforward par four, but again, keep left to avoid a setback. The next tee shot offers you two choices; play the ball with draw to get around the trees or play into the semi rough for a chip over two bunkers.
Holes 13-18:
The 14th plays to an elevated green up the sloping fairway. Be careful of surrounding bunkers. Our most recent addition, the 15th is a short par 4 with a few sneaky hazards. If you’re not flagging, a long shot can add fade on the 16th to give you a good approach for the green. Another uphill journey brings you to the 17th, a short par three. Watch out for the lake on the left! Finally, the 18th, with a long view down the fairway back towards the welcome clubhouse. A long straight drive will set you up well for a good score but watch out for the tricky ditch just shy of the green.

From Lancaster and the M6:
(PLEASE NOTE: There is a new road layout as you come off the M6 at Junction 34 (Opened in 2017). Your Sat Nav may be confused if its oldish and/or hasn’t been updated, so be sure to make a note of the directions below!)
Come off at Junction 34 on the M6. Turn right onto the A683, signposted for Kirkby Lonsdale. Turn right onto the B6480 after you have travelled through Claughton, signposted High Bentham. Continue along the B6480 as it brings you into the middle of Bentham. Turn left after the Co-op (on your left hand side) and continue up Robin Lane. We are approximately ½ mile up on the right hand side.
From Cumbria and the M6:
Exit the M6 at Juntion 36. Travel along the A65, through Kirkby Lonsdale and into Ingleton. Upon arriving in Ingleton, take the first right and following signs to High Bentham and the Golf Club. We will be on the left hand side shortly after the ‘Welcome to High Bentham’ sign.
From Skipton and the A65:
Turn off the A65 after Clapham, following signs to High Bentham and The Golf Club. The brown sign at the junction says Riverside/ Golf Club; follow this! Once arriving in Bentham turn right up Robin Lane (against, signposted for the golf club). This turning is just after the auction Mart but before the Co-op. Then you can’t miss us as you climb up the hill on Robin Lane. We are approximately ½ mile up on the right hand side.
