Nestled on the banks of the River Wenning in an unspoilt and delightful area, this beautifully maintained caravan park is within walking distance of the local market town of High Bentham.
The caravan park has been owned and managed by the Marshall family since the development from a green field site in the late 60s.
The sheltered level setting straddling the banks of the River Wenning is truly superb, screened by trees and natural hillsides with excellent walks along the riverbank and in the surrounding countryside.
For the more adventurous, the “Yorkshire Three Peaks”, which takes in Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough are very close by. Many walkers aim to walk all three within 12 hours, but of course you can take your time.
Riverside Caravan Park is a fantastic family caravan park; a safe and secure environment in the Yorkshire countryside yet within walking distance of the small market town of High Bentham.
Activities are a plenty on Riverside with many different walking trails, offering something for all abilities. Bentham Golf Course is only a short drive away and our customers receive a fantastic reduction on the standard green fee.
Our blissful park boasts fishing rights along the River Wenning as well as it’s own well-stocked Lake. More information about fishing on the park can be found at the bottom of this page.
Our helpful staff in reception are responsible for all arrivals and are on hand to answer any queries as well as point you in the right direction for days out and local attractions. An on-site warden is also available for general queries and to handle emergencies.
Adjacent to the reception is the games room, a well prepared safe area for children with a good selection of arcade machines and games. The games room includes pool and table tennis tables as well as an air hockey table. For the youngsters who wish to burn off steam outside, we also have an imaginatively laid out outdoor play area which sits creatively into the hillside.
Riverside Caravan Park resides along the River Wenning, with calm relaxing stretches of water ideal for paddling and dinghies – a real treat on a hot summer day! The Reception has a selection of fishing nets, buckets for children and river shoes for both adults and children.
Further downstream, the Wenning offers excellent fishing on it’s own private stretch. Daily, weekly and seasonal fishing permits are available from reception.
We also have a fishing lake for the keen enthusiasts, which was opened in August 2008. The lake is well stocked with a variety of carp, rudd, roach and perch.

Sat Nav’s tend to like sending people down the many narrow country roads in our area which are not really suitable for caravans/motorhomes etc. We reccomend following the below directions to reach us easily and safely.
From the South: Lancaster and the M6.
Leave the motorway at Junction 34 on the M6. Turn right as you come off the slip road, onto the A683, signposted for Kirkby Lonsdale. Turn right onto the B6480 after you have travelled through Claughton, signposted High Bentham. Continue along the B6480 as it brings you into the middle of Bentham. Turn right before ‘The Black Bull’ pub and continue down Station Road. Continue over the railway bridge and turn immediately right after you have gone over the river bridge.
PLEASE NOTE:
If your SAT NAV tells you to turn right in Wray please IGNORE it and continue straight on towards Wennington. If your SAT NAV tries to direct you down ‘Duke Street’ when in High Bentham (a very narrow street by the Horse and Farrier Pub) DO NOT turn down here. It isn’t wide enough and very difficult to turn around. Please continue straight along Main Street and turn down Station Road. From the North: Cumbria and the M6.
Exit the M6 at Junction 36. Travel along the A65 (signposted to Skipton), through Kirkby Lonsdale and into Ingleton*. Continue through Ingleton, along the A65 to Clapham and take the right hand turn onto the B6480, signposted to Bentham. Continue along the B6480 through to High Bentham. Once arriving in Bentham turn left after ‘The Black Bull pub’. Continue down Station Road. Continue over the railway bridge and turn immediately right after you have gone over the river bridge.
*Sat Nav will try to direct you off the A65 in Ingleton. There are also signs for Riverside in Ingleton. However, this takes you along narrow country roads. We recommend continuing along to Clapham as directed above.
From the East: Skipton and the A65..
Turn off the A65 after Clapham, following signs to High Bentham and the B6480. The brown sign at the junction says Riverside/ Golf Club; follow this! Continue along this road until you arrive in the village. Once arriving in Bentham turn left after ‘The Black Bull pub’. Continue down Station Road. Continue over the railway bridge and turn immediately right after you have gone over the river bridge.
