Getting Here

Directions by Road: From the North: The M5 and the A30 meet at Exeter. If you are on the A30 join the M5 South. This route takes you in to the beautiful countryside behind Dawlish Warren. Remain on the M5 at Exeter continue towards Plymouth, Torquay and Newton Abbot (A380). After passing the A30 slip road and ‘Partridge Cycles’ keep in the left hand or middle lane and take the left hand split A380 to Teignmouth, Newton Abbot and Torquay. Climb up the steep hill and before the brow of the hill get into the left hand lane. Take the next exit,’Great Haldon’, before the bridge. At the T junction turn left. Follow signs to Starcross & Kenton. Continue along this road through the forest until you come to a T junction. Turn Left. Make your way down the hill, enjoy the views, and follow this road for about 4 miles.The road flattens out for a while and you will come to a T junction opposite Oakmeadow Golf Course. Turn Right. At the next T Junction turn right and after a few yards immediately turn left into Cockwood Harbour. Continue round the harbour and along this road for three-quarters of a mile. Hazelwood Park is on your right hand side.

From the A38 South: Just after the local service station at the top of the hill take the exit marked ‘Exeter Race Course’ and Dunchideok. At the T junction turn right under the bridge and past the race course. At the roundabout carry straight on. Continue on this road for about a mile and take the left signposted Mamhead Kenton Starcross. Continue along this road through the forest until you come to a T junction. Turn Left. Make your way down the hill, enjoy the views, and follow this road for about 4 miles. The road flattens out for a while and you will come to a T junction opposite Oakmeadow Golf Course. Turn Right. At the next T Junction turn right and after a few yards immediately turn left into Cockwood Harbour. Continue on this road for three-quarters of a mile. Hazelwood Park is on your right hand side.

From the A380 South: Take the exit at the brow of the hill marked for the local services, Kenton and Starcross. At the brow of the hill turn right signposted Kenton and Starcross. Continue along this road through the forest until you come to a T junction. Turn Left. Make your way down the hill, enjoy the views, and follow this road for about 4 miles. The road flattens out for a while and you will come to a T junction opposite Oakmeadow Golf Course. Turn Right. At the next T Junction turn right and after a few yards immediately turn left into Cockwood Harbour. Continue on this road for three-quarters of a mile. Hazelwood Park is on your right hand side.

Directions by Rail:

Part of Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s Great Western Railway, this stretch of line runs within a few feet of the sea and has some of the most beautiful train views in the country. Recently featured on the BBC’s Great British Railway Journeys.

If your train doesn’t stop at Dawlish Warren or Dawlish (a short taxi ride away), change at Exeter St David’s where you can transfer to a local train which will stop at Dawlish Warren.

Directions by Bus: There are coach stations situated at Exeter and Dawlish and luckily there is a bus stop/terminal a few hundred yards up the road. Transfer at Exeter coach station and catch the 2 bus to the outskirts of Dawlish by the Marine Parade (Car wash, Mei Lai Take Away, Post Office) and then cross the road and catch the Hop 22 bus to Dawlish Warren. The Bus driver will help you out.

Some coaches may stop at Dawlish Coach Park which is only a short taxi ride away.
